Although the term "flying insect" can include a large number of insects at some stage of their cycle life, in the context of the food industry control of flying insects refers mainly to flies, mosquitoes and occasionally to some species of wasps and moths in stored products.

Recognition and control
 
Before applying any strategy for the control of flying insects it will be essential the identification of the species as well as its more vulnerable state of development.
Getting a good control of the population in their previous stages because the incidence of insects  is drastically reduced  to cover the area.
In addition to the identification of relevant measures and critical areas it will require the selection of products with larvicide activity and those which cause a lower impact on the environment will be selected.
